Bali Dogs

Bali dogs are just an incredible breed. I was living in Bali for about 4 years during the pandemic, where I rescued two native Bali dogs that accompanied me during the shut down. They are resilience, independent, and extremely clever. Perhaps they are often overlooked because of their origin.

These are the two dogs that I rescued and moved to my hometown. The first one is Sir John, who is still overcoming his fear of human. But his silly and active personality is shown through his various (humanlike) facial expersion. These colors are meant to be printed on riso.

Salt and Pepper dog

The other Bali dog that I rescued is BigFoot, a small-medium dog with just black and white. He has a beautiful pair of eyes, but due to his colors, sometimes it's hard to tell whether he has his eyes closed or opened. Drawing him is a leisure activity for me.

Adopt Don't Shop

I'm in depth to the presence of my rescued dogs from Bali. During my stayed in the island, I have found connection with good people through caring for dogs, strays and owned.

Right now there are still hundreds of dogs in the street. The pandemic has made animal welfare programs reduced significantly. Shelters are full, and many dogs ended up breeding or being abandoned in the wild. There are many independent dog feeders and shelters that operates but funding is short.

Through my freelance worked, I donated some of the profits to some rescuers. But the best thing we all can do is to support shelters, welfare programs, and to adopt, not shop.
